Accessibility Statement

Our Goal

The Nichols Agency, S. Corp, the office behind this website, wants the site to work for people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, and other assistive technology.

Our goal is for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. WCAG is a set of guidelines from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for making websites usable by people with disabilities. The guidelines have three levels, and level AA is the middle one. We work toward that goal, but we can’t promise that every page meets it at all times.

What the Site Does

The site is built to:

• Use a clear heading structure, so you can scan a page or move between its sections with a screen reader
• Work with a keyboard, without a mouse
• Show a visible outline on the link, button, or form field that has keyboard focus
• Use text and background colors with enough contrast to read
• Give every form field a label and show clear error messages when something needs to be fixed
• Follow your device’s reduced-motion setting
• Let text grow with your browser’s zoom and text-size settings

Known Limitations

A few parts of the site come from other companies, and the office doesn’t control how they are built:

• The optional Google map on the office and contact pages. The office address in text is 75 Henry St, Commack, NY 11725.
• GEICO’s online quote site, which opens when you select “Continue to your online quote.” That site is run by GEICO. If it is hard to use, the office can prepare a quote with you by phone.
